Ballet Memphis Joins Partnership To Encourage African-Americans To Join Ballet

MEMPHIS, Tenn. ( – A first-of-its-kind partnership with 21 prominent dance organizations across the country is encouraging more African-Americans to join ballet.

Ballet Memphis is among those launching a three-year program to support the advancement of racial equity in professional ballet. The program aims to highlight and uplift the longstanding contributions of black men and women in ballet.

It also will provide learning and resources that reflect diversity and represents America, both on stage and behind the scenes.
