Aussie punters banned from betting at Vaal by South African racing authorities


The ‘Sandpapergate’ scandal that has engulfed Test cricket has claimed more victims, with South Africa’s Vaal Racing Club now refusing to allow bets from Australian punters due to the apparent integrity threat of an “engrained culture of cheating”.

“Cheating is obviously engrained in the Australian sporting culture and we don’t want those dollars funding our thoroughbred racing industry.”
