Augusta African-American Historical Society to hold presentations – News – The Augusta Chronicle

The Augusta African-American Historical Society Inc. will launch a series of historical presentations on black Augustans who have made outstanding contributions locally and throughout the world.

Bobby Donaldson, professor of history at the University of South Carolina, will speak at 7 p.m. Oct. 18 at Paine College’s HEAL Complex with a reception to follow. The event is free and open to the public.

The goal is to develop interest in local black history and working with the historical society.
