Alzheimer’s and Dementia Alliance of Wisconsin works to serve African-American community


MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) — Alzheimer’s Disease is more prevalent among African-Americans than other races, and a local non-profit is working to serve that community.

Barbara McKinney, Diversity Coordinator with the Alzheimer’s and Dementia Alliance of Wisconsin joins NBC15’s John Stofflet to tell us more about how the Alliance is working to serve those in the African-American community battling Alzheimer’s and Dementia.

McKinney says that Alzheimer’s is under-reported in the African-American community. She also says that Alzheimer’s is more prevalent among African Americans than among other races.
