Alabama Historical Commission names 2018 ‘Places in Peril’ – WBRC FOX6 News

The Alabama Historical Commission has released its 2018 list of Places in Peril in Alabama, spotlighting several forgotten historic locations throughout the state.

Every year, the commission releases a new list of sites that have been a significant part of the social, religious, economic or legal lives of Alabamians, but that are now sitting in disrepair or nearly forgotten. This year six locations are listed.

According to the Historical Commission, each of these places has support from their communities, but need more to be brought back to life and preserved as educational and social spaces.
