After three days of touring Kruger National Park, we headed north to Tilodi Hunting Reserve. The reserve is 8,000 acres in size. It is completely fenced and electrified by solar panels placed all along the fence.

The drive took over four hours. We made a rest stop with a lookout over a pond with food bunks for herds of water buffaloes, elephants, rhinos, zebras, ostriches and others.

Arriving at Tilodi, we went through an electric gate and left the black top highway onto rock roads to reach the lodge tucked back on the ranch.

At the lodge, the staff welcomed us and took our luggage to our cabins. The lodge had a large, open covered area to enjoy the view of a shallow pond and the beautiful sunsets. Indoors, there was a bar and a large dining table. Our chef, Moses, and his staff…
