African American women are more susceptible to homelessness




A few days ago, at the Vallejo Senior Roundtable monthly meeting, Will Morat, director of Vallejo Housing Authority, discussed issues relating to affordable senior housing. During the question and answer session, I asked if there are any plans for temporary housing or shelters specifically for seniors who are experiencing homelessness. “Unfortunately, no,” he responded.

Morat went on to say that day shelters, and nonprofits in Vallejo provide services to the homeless, and Resource Connect Solano gives priority housing to elders with chronic medical conditions.
