African-American Studies instructors teach a wide variety of
African-American Studies classes, which helps students develop an
understanding of the historical and cultural development of African
people in the U.S., the African continent and the diasporas.
Subject matter includes courses that are interdisciplinary in
scope, involving African-American History, Politics, Social
Psychology, Philosophy, Male/Female Relationships, Popular Culture,
Afro-Caribbean and African history.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
Teaching schedule may include evening or weekend hours
