African-American man alleges TDCJ deprived him of employment opportunities

HOUSTON – An African-American employee of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice alleges he was deprived of employment opportunities because of his race.

Ricky Dockery filed a complaint on Feb. 28 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Texas Department of Criminal Justice alleging that the employer violated Title VII of the Civil Rights Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff interviewed with the defendant for the assistant plant manager position at the Beto-Sign Plant in October 2015.
