11 African Countries To Debut At The Special Olympic Games In 2019

The Special Olympic Games are an international sporting competition for athletes with intellectual disabilities. While plans are underway to host the 15th edition in the UAE, Africa’s participation will see a significant spike, as 11 additional countries from the continent will be debuting.

The organizing body, Special Olympics is known for championing the inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities in various countries. So, it’s understandable that the new entrants to the games are African countries, where the Special Olympics programmes have been newly established.
